Florida State head football coach Bobby Bowden officially signed his new one-year contract extension on Wednesday. Bowden and the university agreed to the financial terms recently, which was first reported by NoleInsider.com late Monday. Bowden’s contract extension pays him approximately $2.5 million, the same amount he earned last season. “I am glad to get it signed up for another year like I said I would do after each year,” Bowden said in a FSU press release. “I appreciate the university’s support. We are busy recruiting and looking forward to next season.” The 2009 season will be Bowden’s 34th as head coach at Florida State. In his 43 years as a collegiate head coach, Bowden has compiled a career record of 382-123-4. He has led the Seminoles to two national championships (1993 & 1999) and the nation’s longest active bowl appearance streak at 27. – NoleInsider.com
