BC Begins Search for New Coach

Boston College AD Gene DeFilippo is now focused on hiring a successor. BC’s 10-year defensive coordinator Frank Spaziani is a strong candidate. Herzlich threw his support behind Spaziani last night, but added that the coaching hire would play no part in his decision on whether he returns to BC or declares for the NFL draft as a junior eligible. Assistant head coach Jack Bicknell Jr., son of 10-year BC coach Jack Bicknell Sr., is also a candidate. But DeFilippo said he’ll also consider outside candidates. – Boston Herald
